체터누가와 연장계약

The Lookouts and Dodgers have agreed to a four-year extension that will keep Chattanooga as the Class AA affiliate of Los Angeles through the 2014 season. The maximum contract allowed by Major League Baseball will supersede the two-year extension that was signed last November.
2008년 12월 체터누가 룩아웃과 단기계약을 맺은 후 이번 오프시즌동안 2년계약을 맺었던 다저스와 체터누가측이 최대 4년의 연장계약을 맺었다고 합니다.

뭐 이제는 이런 글 쓰면 손아프지만, 빅리그팀과 마이너팀의 관계는 주종관계가 아니라 협력관계죠.

"It’s a sign that we’re happy and they’re happy," former Dodgers manager Tommy Lasorda said. "A city is not about the roads or the buildings. It’s the people. You've got good people here and people who love baseball. You've got the bloodline of the country, because here you’ve got people who love their families, love their churches and love God, so it's a really wonderful place.

"I check with the players and I check with the managers, and they are very happy here."

Lasorda, now a special adviser to Dodgers owner and chairman Frank McCourt, is scheduled to discuss the extension with Lookouts fans at AT&T Field before tonight’s series finale against West Tenn.
계약서 도장은 라소다가 찍은 모양입니다. 일단 그 기념(?)으로 올만에 체터누가를 방문해서 사람냄새가 나는 곳이라는 드립을 치고 있네요. 여기에서 조금만 벗어나면 조지아주 최대도시인 애틀란타로 가는데, 무슨...ㅡ.ㅡ;;

일단 체터누가는 1988년부터 신시네티의 더블 A팀이었기때문에 여전히 레즈에 관한 내용이 많은 것이 사실이지만, 2009년부터 2014년까지 다저스가 이곳과의 연장계약을 다 체우면 레즈 다음으로 오랫동안 협력관계를 맺는 팀이 될거라고 하는군요.

A long night at AT&T Field became even longer when the Chattanooga Lookouts fell into last place in the Southern League’s North Division early this morning.

Lookouts starting pitcher Chris Withrow allowed five runs in the first three innings as West Tenn rolled to an 8-3 victory that followed a 95-minute rain delay Thursday evening. Johan Limonta, Scott Savastano and Guillermo Quiroz each doubled to left field off Withrow in the first three innings, with Limonta and Quiroz driving in runs.

David Pfeiffer replaced Withrow after four innings and worked a scoreless fifth and sixth before allowing four hits and a walk in the seventh as the Diamond Jaxx scored twice to extend their lead to 8-3.

The Lookouts were in first place throughout the first two weeks of the second half, building a 9-4 record, but they are now 17-22 entering tonight’s series finale.
이런 가운데, 위드로우(Chris Withrow)가 오늘 선발로 나와서 4이닝동안 5실점을 허용하며, 체터누가를 서든리그 북부지구 최하위로 인도해줬습니다.

6월하순 한때 연승을 구가하면서 시즌초반에 깎아먹었던 연패를 다 주워담는듯했으나 올스타브레이크 이후 다시 예전의 팀으로 돌아가버렸죠. 최근에 아론 밀러(Aaron Miller)가 강등되어서 인랜드로 돌아갔는데, 위드로우도 계속이런식이라면 강등못시킬 이유도 없을거 같습니다.

이런 가운데 트레이드데드라인쯤에 AA로 콜업된 하비어 솔라노(Javier Solano)가 첫 경기 이후에 2경기 연속으로 좋은 투구를 이어갔습니다.

물론 오늘 경기는 초반에 위드로우가 다 말어먹어 점수차이가 많이 났기때문에 의미가 축소될 수도 있겠지만, 20살(90년 3월생)이라는 점을 생각해볼때 아직은 지켜볼 존재일겁니다.
