Scott Podsednik from Kansas City to Los Angeles for
Lucas May and Elisaul Pimentel. I'm not wild about Lucas May, I don't think he'll hit or field enough to be especially useful for the
Royals except as a marginal reserve. Pimentel has a live arm with fairly good results in the Midwest League at age 22. I'd rate both of them as Grade C prospects at this point, but at least they add some additional depth to the system, and it's not like Pods was part of the wave of the future in KC. It is a decent deal for both teams I think.

Dodgers picked up
Ted Lilly and Ryan Theroit from the
Cubs for
Blake DeWitt, Brett Wallach, and Kyle Smit. This is a short-term contention move but I don't mind it from either perspective. I'm not a huge DeWitt fan at this point, and while Theroit is just a stopgap, I'm not sure that DeWitt will ever be appreciably better. Wallach is quite interesting but need to sharpen up his command, while Smit could be a good middle reliever at some point. Swapping them for veteran Lilly helps the Dodgers in the short run and (hopefully) the Cubs in the long run. All in all, it makes sense for both teams.
일단 난 기본적으로 드윗(Blake DeWitt)을 좋아하지는 않기에 테리엇의 대타쯤으로 생각된다. 월랙(Brett Wallach)의 경우 흥미로운 존재일지는 모르겠지만, 커맨드가 더 좋아질 필요가 있으며, 스미스(Kyle Smit)의 경우 좋은 릴리프가 될 거 같다. 이 트레이드는 단기적으로 릴리(Ted Lilly)가 다저스에게 이득을 가져다 주겠지만, 장기적으로는 컵스가 이득을 챙길거 같다. 양 팀 모두 적절한 트레이드.
The Dodgers traded
James McDonald and
Andrew Lambo to the Pirates for
Octavio Dotel. The veteran has 21 saves this year and is a nice reinforcement for the pen down the stretch, but I like this trade for the Pirates, too. McDonald got lost in the shuffle in LA and in a lower-pressure Pittsburgh environment he could thrive. Lambo needs a fresh start after wearing out his welcome with the Dodgers by his immature behavior but is still only 21. Swapping an ancient reliever for these two is a great move for the Pirates, even if it doesn't work this is a positive talent exchange for them.
도텔(Octavio Dotel)은 이미 21세이브나 올렸고, 삽질하는 다저스 불펜에 좋은 힘이 되어줄 것이지만, 나는 이 트레이드의 승자가 벅스라고 생각된다. 맥도날드(James McDonald)는 다저스에서 허접한 편이었지만, 다저스보다 훨씬 압박이 덜한 벅스에서 잘 될거 같다. 람보(Andrew Lambo)는 드레프트전에 양아치짓으로 픽이 떨어져 다저스로 오게 되었고, 21살전까지 아주 좋은 스텟을 찍어내기도 했었다. 베테랑 불펜으로 2명의 유망주를 받은 벅스가 확실히 좋은 무브를 보여줬다. 물론 이 들이 좋은 유망주라는 생각은 들지 않지만...
