But Ned Colletti brought in a number of professional, veteran types like Mark Loretta, Casey Blake, Orlando Hudson and Brad Ausmus to help improve the clubhouse. And Joe Torre is the best manager in the game at crisis management. So I think the Dodgers will be OK.

Jerry Crasnick : Bruce, Until someone from that foursome of San Francisco, Colorado, San Diego or Arizona proves that it's capable of making a run, I think the Dodgers can maintain their edge until July. They're up 6 1/2 games now. We'll see.

Jerry Crasnick : Randy, Well, we've heard a lot about Manny being a "mentor'' to Matt Kemp and Andre Ethier and taking the pressure off them in the middle of the lineup. So they're the guys who'll be challenged by his absence. For what it's worth, I checked earlier and Russell Martin and James Loney both have slugging percentages below .350. So if those guys start to crank it up, they'd definitely help pick up the slack.

Rob Neyer : Mulder and Sheets are still hurt, and Pedro wants more money than he's worth. Teams can be foolish but they're not generally stupid.

Buster Olney : Zach: AL East. The Yankees, Rays and Red Sox all could be great teams, and Toronto is off to an excellent start. The NL East and AL Central will probably be the most competitive divisions, but I don't think their teams are as good as the AL East teams, in general. The NL Central and AL West will be competitive, but there is a lot of mediocrity in those two divisions. And unless the Dodgers suffer some catastropic injuries, it's hard to imagine they won't run away with the NL West.
가장 터프한 지구에 대한 질문입니다. 뭐 다 예상하시겠지만, AL 동부지구가 가장 치열하겠죠. 토론토의 초반열풍에 대해서는 곧 가라앉을 거라는 식의 뉘앙스를 풍기네요. 분명 다저스는 피칭스텝에 문제가 있지만, 마지막말에도 나와있지만 다저스가 지구우승을 차지하지 못한다는 상상을 하긴 어렵다네요. 개인적으로 NL 서부지구보다 AL 서부지구가 더 허접해보입니다. 다만 렉키가 현지시간으로 일요일 트리플 A 등판에서 좋은 결과(5이닝 5피안타 3실점 5K)를 보여줬고 바로 올라오기 때문에 엔젤스가 치고 나갈 가능성은 있어보이네요.

이에 대해 빌링슬리는 당시에는 겨우 자기만 생각할 정도로 엉망이었고, 투수에게조차 안타를 맞는 공항상태였다고 하네요. 이제는 한층 성숙된 모습이기때문에 또 마이어스가 작년 플옵에서 한 행동을 또 한다면 결과는 달라지겠죠.
개인적으로 아직도 잊을 수없을 정도로 생생했던 장면은 마이어스가 덕아웃에서 상대팀 선수를 비이냥 거리는 듯한 몸동작...그게 아직도 기억에 나네요.
물론 빌링슬리는 3차전에서 WS MVP인 콜 하멜스와 맞대결을 하지만 울프가 대신해주겠죠.
