매니 약물 이후 조직 내 추가 반응

Los Angeles Dodgers CEO Jamie McCourt issued the following statement in reaction to today's statements from Major League Baseball, the Major League Baseball Players Association, and Manny Ramirez.

"We share the disappointment felt by our fans, our players, and every member of our organization. We support the policies of Major League Baseball, and we will welcome Manny back upon his return."

This statement will constitute the comment of the Los Angeles Dodgers organization until Joe Torre meets with the media this afternoon, according to the release.

Manager Joe Torre will meet with the Dodgers today at 4 p.m. to discuss Manny Ramirez's 50-game suspension. The meeting is expected to last about 30 minutes, after which Torre and General Manager Ned Colletti will speak to the media.

The Dodgers clubhouse will be closed to the media before batting practice, a Dodgers spokesman said. It will open after BP.
일단 맥코티의 부인인 현 다저스 CEO가 이번 사태에 대해 굉장한 실망감을 피력했고, 하지만 매니를 여전히 지지할 것이며 그가 다시 돌아온다면 환영할 거라고 하는군요.
그리고 토레는 오늘 오후 4시(현지시간)에 매니 출장정지에 대해 팀 미팅을 30분 가량 가질거라고 하는군요. 일단 오늘 경기 타격 연습 전까지 클럽하우스 미디어센터는 통제되어 있습니다.

일단 일은 벌어졌고, 이제는 그에 따른 후폭풍을 얼마나 잠재우고 경기를, 시즌을 얼마나 경쟁력있게 끌고가느냐에 달려있다고 봅니다.
해서 여러 이야기가 나오고 있는데, 아무래도 초점은 매니가 금지약물로 인한 징계로 세이브되는 약 7.7M에 대한 돈 사용여부인데, 지금 다저스의 피칭스텝이 상대적으로 허접하기때문에 그 돈으로 페드로나 회복중인 쉬츠를 영입할 수도 있다는 의견이 나오고 있습니다.

개인적으로 둘다 반대입니다.
저번에도 말했듯이 페드로의 경우는 WBC에서 극소수의 은퇴한 메이저리그 선수와 소수의 더블 A선수, 다수의 싱글 A선수로 구성된 네덜란드 대표팀을 상대로 6이닝 무실점을 기록했다는게 저로써는 전혀 메리트있게 느껴지지 않고 있습니다.
그리고 그가 주장하는 5M의 값어치는 전혀없고 대신 기본 0.4M에 최대 3M까지 받을 수있는 퍼포먼스 보너스가 된다면 그건 수용하겠습니다.
WBC 이후 어떤 훈련을 통해 몸을 계속 만들고 있는지는 모르겠지만, 실전에서 경기에 참여하는것과 개인훈련은 분명 다를것이며, 그것은 누구나 동의할 것입니다.

쉬츠의 경우도 부상에서 회복되고 있지만, 그 경과가 어느정도인지 모르고, 그의 부상은 옛 동료이며 얼마전에 텍사스에서 방출된 데릭 턴보우(Derrick Turnbow)와 비슷한 부위이며, 그가 함께하고 싶어했던 마이크 매덕스 현 텍사스 투수코치도 그를 제어하지 못했기때문에 만약 다저스가(혹은 쉬츠가 다저스와 계약할 마음이 있다면) 계약한다면 마이너계약은 기본적으로 깔고 가야할 것입니다.
냉혹하다고, 과거 그의 명성을 생각한다면 이런 발언을 할 수있느냐고...이 글을 보면서 생각하시는 님들이 있겠지만, 이건 한국리그에서 땡깡부리며 연봉협상하는 시스템이 절대로 아니며, 오직 실력으로만 자신의 가치를 평가하고 그것을 딜(Deal)할 구단이 수용하는 거래이기에 가능한 생각입니다.
