I sure was hoping a year in the Big Leagues and an offseason to review year one would significantly help out Clayton Kershaw, but I have some concerns. He wastes way too many pitches which in turn kills the bullpen. He had a seven run lead but could not get out of the sixth inning. You have to throw strikes to stay in the game. Allowing minimal hits is great, but stupid if you are walking so many. Is this too critical a thought pattern toward a young player? Thanks.

Jerry Crasnick : I just answered a comment from a reader asking about Jorge De La Rosa, a "stuff" lefty who's blossomed in his late 20s. Clayton Kershaw just turned 22 and he's four years out of high school, and he's supposed to be the lead dog for one of MLB's marquee franchises. I think that's an awful lot to hang on a kid. Give him time. If he stays healthy, he'll develop that consistency and be fine.

Jim Callis씨의 ASK BA 코너에서 나온 얘기인데, 매년 드레프트가 끝난 후에 자신만의 드레프트칼럼을 개제했던 모양입니다.
위에 명단에는 BA Top 100의 4명이 포함되어있지만, 자신만의 Top 10이라고 하네요. Jim Callis는 다저스의 다른 유망주보다 굴드는 더 높이 평가하는 모양입니다.

08년 드래프트에서 31라운드로 뽑힌 메길은 자신의 실링보다 더 낮은 순위에서 뽑혔다고 하는군요.
memoriesofkevinmalone에서 작년 8월에 메길에 관한 기사를 쓴 것이 있는데, 당시에는 커쇼님 말대로 84-86마일에 이르고, 최고 91마일까지 나오는 페스트볼을 지니고 있다고 합니다. 커브와 슬라이더를 지니고 있지만, 슬라이더가 아주 좋기때문에 커브를 버렸다고 하네요.

괜찮은 BB/K비율을 보이곤 있지만, 그의 구속이 증가하지 않는다면 릴리프로 컨버전할 수도 있다고 합니다. 그의 구속이 증가한다면 괜찮은 4선발이 될 수 있다고 하는데, 살이 좀 쪘으면 좋겠네요.
