Andre Ethier, Matt Kemp are Dodgers' dynamic duo

L.A.'s two young stars have combined for 57 homers and 204 RBIs this season, helping Joe Torre reach playoffs for the 14th straight year. And their best may be yet to come.
다저스의 두 영건인 이띠어와 캠프가 현실적인(?) 다이나믹 듀오로 성장했습니다. 이 둘은 올시즌 57홈런과 204타점을 합작했는데, 기록을 찾아보니 밀워키의 듀오(브론 & 필더)와 필리스의 듀오(트리오라고 해야하나요?ㅎ), 토론토의 듀오(린드 & 힐)만이 우리 듀오보다 많은 타점을 올렸더군요.

물론 보스턴(베이 & 빅마)과 카즈(푸올스 & 할러데이)도 포함될 수도 있겠지만, 빅마와 할러데이의 타점의 일부분은 분명 현 소속팀을 위한 타점이 아니었기에 다저스의 영건보다 현실적인 관점(혹은 올시즌 & 현재 팀을 위한 관점)에서 더 팀에 공헌했다고는 생각지 않습니다.

사실 저는 저렇게 좋은 선수가 100타점 이상을 올려주며 팬들의 사랑을 많이 받는것도 좋지만 리스크를 줄이는 방법을 선호하기에 나머지 타자들이 얼마나 뒷받침해주느냐에 따라 달린듯합니다. 저런 수치가 시즌초 기대를 많이 하는 두 명에게만 한정되어 162경기를 소화하다보면 부상이나 부진으로 인해 달성하지 못할 경우가 생기는데, 이럴때 나머지 타자들이 얼마나 잘해주느냐에 달렸고, 두 선수가 저런 훌륭한 업적을 이룩하기보다는 4~5명의 선수가 85타점 이상을 올려주는게 전 더 좋아보입니다.

또한 상대팀 입장에서도 한 두명의 선수만 피해가면 되는 과정보다 복수의 선수를 피하지 못하는 과정이 더 응원하는 팀에게는 도움이 된다고 생각하고 있기때문에....

Players' salaries likely to increase soon

The Dodgers who will be eligible for salary arbitration in the upcoming off-season could earn raises that total up to $20 million.

In exchange for a base salary of $3.1 million, the Dodgers have so far received 31 home runs and 103 runs batted in from Andre Ethier.

Matt Kemp has been an even greater bargain, his 26 home runs and 100 RBIs costing the Dodgers only $467,000.

Chad Billingsley is earning $475,000, and James Loney $465,000.

But the kids are no longer kids, and the Dodgers will soon have to compensate them at a more veteran level.

The Dodgers who will be eligible for salary arbitration in the off-season -- including the players mentioned above, as well as Jonathan Broxton, Russell Martin, George Sherrill and Hong-Chih Kuo -- could earn raises that total somewhere in the neighborhood of $20 million.

Players become eligible for salary arbitration once they have accrued three years of major league service or are in the top 17% of players with two-plus years of service time.

Ethier, Broxton, Martin and Sherrill will be eligible for arbitration for the second time. Kemp, Billingsley, Loney and Kuo will be eligible for the first time.

Ethier and Kemp are expected to earn the most significant raises, according to agents, who speculate that Ethier could earn $7 million or so next season and Kemp around $4 million.
뭐 이미 다들 아시고 예상한 일이지만 정식(?)으로 기사가 나왔습니다.
현재 연봉중재자이거나 올시즌 후 연봉중재자격이 생기는 인원이 총 8명입니다. 해서 이들에게 들어갈 예상금액이 20M이 되리라는 예상이 나오고 있습니다.

가장 먼저 성적이 눈에 띄게 좋아지면서 연봉중재자격이 생긴 캠프의 경우는 4M가까운 금액이 예상되며 이미 '슈퍼 2조항'으로 연봉중재자격이 있었던 이띠어는 7M가까운 금액이 예상된다는군요. 물론 이 예상금액은 그들의 에이전트들의 말이겠죠.

이건 시즌이 모두 끝난 후 다시 논의가 되겠지만, 콜레티가 지불유예를 많이 시켰기에 그것과 맞물려 약간의 곤란한 상황이 올 가능성도 있어보입니다.

Dodgers manager Joe Torre called his six starting pitchers into his office Saturday afternoon to tell them he wouldn't need six starting pitchers in the postseason.
토레는 토요일 경기전에 6명의 선발인원을 자신의 사무실에 불러 얘기를 몇 마디 했다는군요. 아마도 플옵 선발에 관한 것이겠죠. 토레는 모든 인원이 가치있지만 결코 6명은 쓰지 않을 것이라고 했다는군요.

Assuming Wolf, Kuroda and Kershaw are in the rotation, that leaves one starting spot for Billingsley, Padilla and Garland, with the also-rans no guarantee to make the roster as relievers. That's especially the case for Padilla and Garland, who have almost no relief experience over the past five years.

Keeping in mind Billingsley's struggles against the Phillies in last year's playoffs, he is probably more likely to be in a rotation against the Cardinals. Padilla hasn't faced either team this year, while Garland is 0-2 against both clubs.
예상 로테이션은 울프, 구로다, 커쇼는 필히 들어갈듯 싶고, 나머지 3명중에 경쟁할 것으로 예상됩니다. 결국 다저스의 장기적인 플랜이 되어주어야할 빌링슬리가 플옵 로테이션에 합류해야하겠지만 후반기의 슬럼프는 토레나 언론, 그리고 다저스팬들도 의문표가 붙는게 사실입니다. 당장 팀을 승리로 이끌려면 최근에 좋고, 과거 플옵에서도 좋은 활약을 펼쳤던 갈랜드를 넣는것도 방법 중에 하나겠죠.

일단 갈랜드는 올시즌 필리스와 카즈 상대로 2패만을 기록중입니다. 단지 작년 빌링슬리가 2번이나 필리스상대로 좋지않은 모습을 보여준 것을 생각해볼때 상대적으로 그 자신에게만은 카즈가 더 어울리는 상대가 될 수 있어보입니다.

파디야의 경우는 파즈와의 2번째 경기에 선발로 내정되어있지만 이때도 나올 수 있을지 어떻지는 모르겠으나 만약 선발로 등판한다면 그가 플옵 로테이션(혹은 로스터)에 포함될지에 대한 최종 심사가 아닐까 싶네요.

• Scott Elbert (If Philadelphia is the first-round opponent, Dodgers might want a third bullpen lefty)
• Guillermo Mota (needs a chance to prove himself after facing only one batter this month)
• Chad Billingsley and Jon Garland (one will be the fourth starter, the other might or might not end up in the bullpen)
• Jeff Weaver (Has mostly disappeared in September and may be edged out)
• Vicente Padilla (fading)

이것은 La Times에서 예상한 플옵 투수 로스터인데, 일단 7명은 확정적이라는군요. 뭐 누구라도 이의를 제기할 수없는 7인이 아닐까 싶네요. 릴리프중에서는 클로저를 제외하고 좌우균형을 생각한다면 라몬 트론코소가 포함될거 같고, 나머지 3자리 중에서 선발급 2명과 롱릴리프 한명, 혹은 선발급 2명과 엘버트가 포함되리라고 얘기하는군요.

엘버트의 경우는 필리스와 맞대결한다면 포함될 가능성이 있습니다. 일단 롱릴리프의 경우는 위버와 맥도날드겠지만 경험적인 측면에서 위버가 앞선것이 사실이지만 최근에 삽질하고 있는지라...만약 모타가 남은 기간동안 좋은 모습을 보인다면 3이닝이상의 롱릴리프보다는 2이닝은 무난히 던져줄 것으로 예상되는 모타를 대신 롱릴리프로 쓰는것도 하나의 방법이 아닐까 하는 생각을 해봅니다.

아니면 후반기에 비록 무너질지라도 4~5이닝만큼은 확실히 솔리드한 빌링슬리가 롱 릴리프라는 보직을 얻게 될지도....
