Manny Ramirez will return to the Dodgers in 2010, according to his agent, Scott Boras.
LAtimes의 헤르난데스 기자가 자신의 트위터에 올린 짤막한(어차피 트위터라서 단문밖에 안되지만) 글을 올렸는데, 스캇 보라스 입에서 나온 소리라서 가장 신뢰할만한 소리가 아닐까 싶네요.

어떻게들 생각하시나요? 전 일단 괜찮습니다. 어차피 내년에 람보는 차베스라빈에 오지 못할 겁니다. 그리고 LF라는 곳이 발빠르고 타격 조금하는 곳이라기보다는 한방을 필요로 하는 포지션이기때문에 여전히 전 피에르가 벤치(1%의 트레이드)로 가야한다고 생각합니다.

Even after Vicente Padilla pulled a Plaxico Burress by shooting himself in the leg, the Dodgers have expressed interest in bringing him back to Los Angeles next season.

I'm not here to debate whether or not someone who shoots themself is smart enough to be a MLB pitcher, but to ask one single question: Is it worth it for the Dodgers to bring Padilla back?
MVN의 mlb notebook에서 나온 얘기인데, 별 임펙트는 없는 기사지만 어쨎든 퍼와봤습니다. 일단 몇일전에 콜레티는 (총맞기전의) 파디야와 재계약할 마음이 있다는 뜻을 시사했습니다.

The Dodgers currently have 2010 options on both Padilla and Jon Garland worth $22MM combined, and it doesn't take a genius to figure out that they won't be picking either of them up. With only Clayton Kershaw, Chad Billingsley, and Hiroki Kuroda under contract in the rotation, the Dodgers are likely to make a big offer to Randy Wolf for another season or two.
현재 다저스는 두 명의 선발에게 옵션권한을 가지고 있지만 갈랜드는 어제 포기했고, 파디야는 당연히(?) 포기할 것으로 예상됩니다. 하지만 새로운 계약을 다시 제시할 수도 있겠죠. 현재 내년 로테이션에 확실하게 있는 선수는 빌링슬리, 커쇼, 구로다 뿐이기때문에 질적으로 좋은 2, 3명의 선발은 꼭 있어야할 부분입니다. 이에대해 울프에게 1~2년의 계약을 제시할 가능성이 있다는데, 기간을 더 늘려야하지 않나 싶네요. 2년동안 건강했고 작년 오프시즌에 휴스턴으로부터 제시받은 금액(3년에 28M이었던걸로 기억되네요)정도를 울프는 찾고 있을지도 모르겠습니다.

Assuming Wolf returns, the Dodgers staff lacks one thing - an ace. The staff is filled with starters of a number two or three quality, but nothing that scares you going into a playoff series. The deep rotation filled with talent is great in the regular season, but it doesn't do much in the playoffs. Unless Kershaw continues to make major improvements and Billingsley gets his act together, the Dodgers are looking at an early round exit again.
울프가 돌아온데도 다저스에게 부족한 부분은 에이스라는 선발입니다. 물론 선발댑스가 좋으면 정규시즌에서는 좋지만, 포스트시즌에서는 그게 아니라고 하네요. 근대 저는 이 상황에서 의문점이 있습니다. 상대팀의 타선이 어찌되었건 선발이 좋았던 카즈상대로의 NLDS에서도 다저스는 루징이라고 예측하고, NLCS에서도 다저스는 루징이라고 예측하는데, 뭐가 다른지 의문이네요. 모두 다저스는 (그들 입장-관점-에서) 에이스가 없었던건 마찬가지였는데요.

단지 그냥 상대의 장점이 달랐던거 뿐이 아닐까 싶습니다. 그리고 전 여전히 포스트시즌에서 에이스가 꼭 있어야한다는 소리에 동의하지않습니다. 물론 전 여전히 할러데이를 좋아하지만...

The only real ace in play this offseason is John Lackey, but even he wasn't great this year. However, a move to the NL would likely correct that, allowing him to look great again. Do the Dodgers really want to spend that kind of money on a starter? I have two alternatives for them, who will probably cost less than Lackey, combined.
일단 오프시즌에 에이스라고 할 수 있는 물품은 레키가 있습니다. 그는 올해 부상으로 시즌을 늦게 출발했지만 NL에서 활동한다면 달라질것이라고 하네요. 일단 다저스의 상황을 생각해볼때 (양자택일한다면) 렉키보다는 아래의 선수에게 더 접근할 가능성이 있습니다.

Ben Sheets - Everyone seems to forget he'll be around this offseason. While his injury history is extensive, he has great stuff and knows how to pitch in the NL. He's getting up there in age, but I think you can bring him in on a one year deal with an option for the second. He shouldn't cost too much in terms of base salary, and the incentives he could reach would be well worth it.

Erik Bedard - Another forgotten free agent. While he is likely to stay in Seattle, I'm sure the prospects of winning a title in L.A. could lure him into Dodger Blue. He is utterly dominant when healthy, but hasn't been for a couple of years. A cheap one-year deal is all he needs, and he could help anchor the rotation for 2010.
쉬츠와 베다드는 올시즌 부상으로 자신의 가치를 깎아먹었는데, 다른 팀들도 그들에게 적은 기본급에 인센티브 덕지덕지 붙은 계약을 원한다고 하네요. 두 선수 모두 건강할땐 도미네이트하였기에 그들과 계약하고 싶어하는 팀들은 많지만 연장계약의 리스크보다는 단기계약에 옵션추가하는 계약형태를 모두 원하니, 누군가가 장기계약을 한다면 그들을 쉽게 체갈 수 있지않을까 싶습니다. 과연 누가 총대를 맺지....

So, where does Vicente Padilla come into play? If the Dodgers bring him back along with Wolf, they will have five starters on the payroll in 2010, leaving them without the big game pitcher they need. While I think Padilla will find work in the NL after his playoff performance, he is what he is - a back end starter.
개인적으로 울프와 연장계약을 선호하지 않습니다. 굳이 한다면 전 단기계약을 원합니다.

제가 좋아하는 선발투수는 내구성있고 꾸준하고 이닝이터의 모습을 갖춘 선수를 원하는데, 그 조건에 전 여전히 갈랜드를 추천합니다. 뭐 작년에도 갈랜드를 원했지만...ㅋ 그런점에서 전 여전히 울프를 믿지못하겠습니다. 부상 경력이 있는데다가 올시즌 운이 좋았던 기록들이 많아서....물론 울프가 올시즌 다저스에서 가장 믿음직스런 모습을 보이긴 했죠.
