The Dodgers acquired right-hander Jon Garland from the Diamondbacks on Monday after both players cleared waivers.

After Monday's game, Garland made what he called a "definitely weird" walk from the visitors' clubhouse to the Dodgers' room. He was scheduled to pitch the series finale against the Dodgers on Thursday.

"It's definitely a team I've always wanted to pitch for," said Garland, who was born in the northern suburb of Valencia and went to high school in nearby Granada Hills. "This is where the dream started for me."

Torre also said that Garland could start Thursday, against his old team, the D-backs, and that he will get the ball every fifth day.

토레는 갈랜드의 선발등판은 목요일로 예고했습니다. 좀 사악하다는 표현이 맞을려나 모르겠습니다. 어쨎든 갈랜드 본인에게도 나름의 바이오리듬이나 등판일정이 있으니 그렇게 하는게 맞을 수도 있겠습니다. LA가 홈타운인 갈랜드는 차베스 레빈(Chavez Ravine)에서 선발등판하는것이 꿈이었다는군요.

The Dodgers said that Garland was acquired for a player to be named later.

Garland is due $1,161,202 from his $6.25 million salary. His contract includes a $10 million mutual option. He gets a $2.5 million buyout if the team declines and $1 million is he declines. Because he was traded, the Dodgers cannot offer him salary arbitration if he is a Type A free agent.
다저스는 갈랜드를 받으며 추후지명 선수를 내주는 딜을 합의했는데 추후지명은 토니 어브레유로 알려졌습니다. 어브레유가 다저스의 40인 로스터에 포함된 선수이기때문에 어브레유도 웨이버 공시를 해야하는 절차가 있었고, 웨이버는 통과했습니다.

갈랜드의 올시즌 남은 연봉은 1.16M이며 내년에는 구단과 뮤추얼옵션이 체결되어 있습니다. 즉, 구단이 옵션을 거절하면 갈랜드의 바이아웃비용은 2.5M이 되며, 선수가 거절하면 1.5M이 됩니다. 또한, 올해안에 갈랜드가 트레이드된다면 새로운 팀(다저스)은 그가 A타입 선수가 되면 연봉중재신청을 하지못한다는 조항이 있습니다.

현재 가장 최신판 엘리어스랭킹에 따르면 갈랜드는 B타입도 아닙니다. 하지만, B타입 마지노선과 1.5점차이이기때문에 B타입 선수가 될 수도 있어보입니다.

I look at Garland as insurance.  He’s another starter to use, in case the club needs to rest Chad Billingsley and his legs for a start or two, or Clayton Kershaw and his arm for a start or two.  Also, if Hiroki Kuroda is unable to return this Sunday, Garland is another arm that can fill in as needed.  There’s no way in hell I would give up Tony Abreu for Garland, but I’ll reserve that outrage until the other shoe drops.
