GLL 플옵진출

이렇게 때거지로 몰려있으니 선수 구별이 어렵군요. 암튼 경기가 끝난 후 덕아웃에서 우승축하 컷

Great Lakes Loons가 플옵에 진출했습니다. 오늘 경기는 GLL이 이기거나 지구 4위팀인 Dayton Dragons가 지면 플옵이 확정되는 매직 넘버 1이었습니다.

전반기에 40-30로 지구 3위에 머물렀지만 후반기 지구 상위팀이 모두 전반기에 플옵진출이 확정된 팀이었기때문에 자연스레 가장 높은 승률을 기록중이 GLL이 플옵에 올라갈 수 있는 기회가 생겼습니다.

플옵은 (현지시간으로) 다음달 9일 홈에서 시작한다고 하는군요.

Dee Gordon과 Anthony Hatch가 감독인 Juan Bustabad에게 게토레이 세레머니를 하네요.

후반기부터 작년 1라운더(Ethan Martin)와 11라운더(Nathan Eovaldi)를 같은 날 등판시키는 로테이션을 취하고 있었는데 지금껏 한 선수가 잘하면 다른 선수는 별로였던 경기가 꾸준히 이어졌는데 오늘은 두 선수가 같이 잘하면서 좋은 결과를 이끌어냈고 이틀 전 팀 완봉승을 시작으로 사흘째 팀 완봉승을 이어가고 있는데 오늘은 이틀전과 동일하게 3명의 투수가 3피안타 9SO(4BB)를 기록했습니다.

일단 두 선수는 HS을 졸업하고 바로 루키리그(물론 에오발디는 갔다왔지만 10.2이닝만 투구한지라...)가 아닌 풀리그인 싱글 A부터 프로생활을 시작했기때문에 그런걸 생각해본다면 성공적인 데뷔해가 아닐까 싶습니다. 어린나이에 그들보다 (맥시멈) 4~5살 많은 선수들을 상대로 훌륭한 시즌을 보냈다는 생각이 듭니다.

시즌 전 Juan Bustabad가 플옵에 진출하면 모호크족 스타일로 머리를 민다고 공약을 걸었나 봅니다. 그걸 시행하는 장면. 제가 감독이라도 이런건 당해도 기분좋은 벌칙일거 같습니다.

오늘 Fort Wayne과 West Michigan간의 경기는 비로 인해 열리지 않아 GLL이 웨스트 미시건에게 반게임차 앞선 지구 2위에 올라갔습니다.
이제 남은 일정은 Silver Hawks와의 2경기 후 Fort Wayne 원정 3연전, 그리고 Dayton Dragons와의 홈최종 3연전이 기다리고 있습니다.

Dee Gordon sparked a big sixth-inning rally by drawing a leadoff walk, stealing his Midwest League-leading 70th stolen base and scoring on Jaime Pedroza's single. After the bases were loaded and a pair of strikeouts, Pedroza scored on a wild pitch and Joe Becker singled home two runs for the 5-0 lead. Anthony Hatch doubled and scored on Kyle Russell's single in the first inning to set the tone for the win.

디 고든(Dee Gordon)이 70도루를 성공했는데, 남은 경기가 8경기지만 언론의 예상처럼 80도루는 도달하지 못할거 같습니다. 물론 마음만 먹으면 한 경기에 3개의 도루까지 하는 고든일지라도 오늘 경기의 승리로 플옵이 확정되었기때문에 최근 이틀동안 못나온 몸상태를 체크하고 플옵대비를 위해 1~2경기정도는 빠지지 않을까 싶네요.
