Joe Beimel really wanted to stay

Joe Beimel returns to Los Angeles today for the first time since signing with the Nationals. The left-hander had always made it known that staying in LA was his first choice, but was unable to agree to a new contract with the Dodgers.

Beimel’s biggest fan, Troy from West Virginia, provides some insight into just how much Beimel wanted to come back, posting on a Nationals message board a YouTube message he had received from Beimel during the negotiaton process with the Dodgers.

As optimistic as Beimel sounded, Troy’s “Bring Back Beimel” campaign was ultimately doomed because, of course, it came down to money. Beimel wanted what he thought he was worth, and the Dodgers believed that the economy should have lowered his demands.

Will Ohman was signed, and both Beimel and Hong-Chih Kuo have been hurt.

But Beimel is coming off the disabled list in time to possibly close games out against his old team. He even apparently has a new No. 97 custom-made bathrobe after giving his old one away to Troy.
바이멀이 다시 LA를 찾았습니다. 현지시간으로 5월 1일 네츠의 싱글 A팀인 포토맥 네셔널즈(Potomac Nationals)에서 선발등판해 1이닝동안 7피안타 5실점을 했지만, 악타 감독은 오늘 바이멀의 불펜섹션이 아주 좋다면서 다저스 원정에 그를 로스터에 포함시킨다고 했습니다. 제가볼땐 불펜섹션이 좋아서 DL에서 나오는게 아니라 오늘 경기에서 11회까지 하고 1시간 16분이나 딜레이되는걸 지켜본 후 서스펜디드되고 워싱턴에서 LA로 날아와서 투수들(특히 릴리프) 피곤해서 올린 인상입니다.

바이멀을 가장 사랑하는 팬이라면 다들 아실테고, 그 사람을 통해 바이멀이 심경의 변화를 피력했다고 하는데, 이미 한 팀의 소속된 선수로써 콜레티까지 언급한게 사실인지 일단은 의심이 가네요.

Tony Abreu is back.

Dodgers infielder Tony Abreu played in his first regular season game since 2007, coming off the disabled list at Double-A Chattanooga today.

He played the entire game at second base, the position where he was once heralded as the team’s eventual replacement to Jeff Kent.
A switch-hitter who can play multiple positions, Abreu caused Joe Torre’s eyes to light up when talking about him this spring.

But various injuries and two tricky surgeries have hampered Abreu’s progress. He started this season on the minor league DL and has been passed on the depth chart by Blake DeWitt.

Is this latest step merely a tease, or might it actually be a new beginning for Abreu?

게임 전체를 플레이했는데 성적은 2번타자로 나와서 0-4에 1K를 기록했습니다.
과거 스위치히터에다가 내야 전포지션이 가능한 수비와 평균이상의 주루플레이, 대타로 나와서도 제몫을 제법 해줬을 당시만해도 캔트의 후계자라는 소리를 들었는데, 알수없는 부상과 에이전트의 땡깡으로 그는 그 스스로 빅리그와 거리를 두게 만들었습니다.
일단 계속 확장스캠에 있다가 체터누가로 합류했고, 엘버커키 내야에는 드윗, 후친렁, 헥터 루나, 루이스 마자가 있기때문이기도 하지만, 당분간은 올라오기 힘들거 같습니다.
거의 2년가까이를 경기에서 뛰지않았기때문에 일단 경기감각을 익힐 필요가 있습니다. 만약 그가 다시 한번 대폭발은 한대도 이미 빅리그에는 자리가 없는것도 안습이군요.
