Joe, You're so wrong!

We got an explanation on the ball that Matt Kemp and Andre Ethier screwed up in the first inning. As I mentioned here earlier, it was extremely windy here tonight, and it was a loud, howling wind -- loud enough that neither Kemp nor Ethier could hear the other calling for the ball. That was why neither of them backed off on the play.
``We couldn't hear each other,'' Kemp said. ``I don't even remember (exactly what happened). A lot was going on at that moment. It was a tough ball. (Second baseman Orlando Hudson) said we were both calling it and we didn't hear each other. I don't know what to really say about it. (It was) the wind. The elements out there were pretty crazy. But no excuses. That ball should have been caught by one of us.''
Kemp also made no excuses for the next ball, which he misjudged into a triple for Randy Winn.
``It just took off. It had a weird little spin on it, and it just got away from me. But the ball should have been caught.''
It led to a three-run inning for the Giants. If both plays had been made, Randy Wolf would have had a one-two-three inning.

In case you were wondering, Joe Torre's explanation for why he didn't bring in a well-rested Hong-Chih Kuo, the Dodgers' designated eighth-inning setup man, to set up in the eighth inning was all the right-handed hitters the Giants had coming up. I'm starting to wonder whether Kuo really IS the eighth-inning setup man for this team.
분명 7회의 릴리프와 8회의 릴리프는 분명 다른데 토레는 너무 자신과 자신의 고집을 신뢰하네요. 쿼홍치의 마지막 등판에서 결과는 좋지 않았지만, 토레와 다저스 스카우트들이 그의 공과 커맨드는 좋다고 했으면서도 쿼를 내보내지 않은 상황은 이해할 수가 없었던 대목이었습니다.
더군다나 8회의 SF 선두타자는 타격만큼은 소질이 있어보이는 프레드 루이스였고, 그가 좌타자라면 최소한 어제 던졌을지라도 비교적 적은 공(14개)을 던진 오만(Will Ohman)을 내보냈어야 한다는 생각이 듭니다.

Anyway, Dodgers fall to 13-7 and 2 1/2 up on the Pods. Giants now just three back. Chad Billingsley against Jonathan Sanchez tomorrow night, 7:15. Billingsley is 4-0 in four starts, but more importantly in this case, he is 3-0 in three starts following Dodgers losses. He not only pitches like an ace, he pitches like a stopper, too.
다행히 내일은 빌링슬리가 등판하며 올시즌 그가 올린 4승 중에 3승이 팀이 진 이후 나와서 연패를 끊는 스토퍼(Stopper)를 하면서 에이스가 되어가고 있는 모습을 보여주고 있습니다.
올 시즌 2연패가 최다인 다저스가 빌링슬리가 등판하는 내일진다면 그 패배는 1승 이상일 것입니다.

Torre had two other options, each of them preferable.  He could have double-switched before the bottom of the eighth began, bringing in Will Ohman to face Lewis, the right-handed Edgar Renteria and the switch-hitting Randy Winn. Or, he could have left both Belisario and tonight's starting first baseman, Mark Loretta, in the game, and then double-switched with Loney and another reliever if and when Belisario ran into a buzzsaw.
분명 토레에게는 어려가지 선택할 사항들이 있었고, 그것이 승리로 이끌 방법중에 하나였지만, 그는 자신의 판단만을 믿은채 빅리그 초짜에게 계속 허용하도록 이끌었습니다.

SF와의 선발싸움에서 + 시리즈 승리를 가져가기 위해서는 오늘의 지토와 내일의 빌링슬리가 등판하는 날은 꼭 이겼어야 했는데, 그러질 못했고, 셋째날 가장 힘든 상대중에 하나인 린스컴을 이겨야하는 부담만 늘게되었습니다.
아직도 토레가 NL의 야구를 모르는게 아닌가 하는 생각이 듭니다.
