사무국의 지배하에 놓이게 된 다저스

The beginning of the end of McCourt ownership of the Dodgers is upon us. Major League Baseball has announced that it will take control of day-to-day operations and finances of the Dodgers. Just last month when commissioner Bud Selig visited Camelback Ranch he had little to say regarding McCourt and the Dodgers. However, today he had plenty to say. Here is the official statement from Selig:
맥코티체제의 다저스가 드디어(?) 종말에 다달았나 봅니다.

"Pursuant to my authority as Commissioner, I informed Los Angeles Dodgers owner Frank McCourt today that I will appoint a representative to oversee all aspects of the business and the day-to-day operations of the Club. I have taken this action because of my deep concerns regarding the finances and operations of the Dodgers and to protect the best interests of the Club, its great fans and all of Major League Baseball. My office will continue its thorough investigation into the operations and finances of the Dodgers and related entities during the period of Mr. McCourt's ownership. I will announce the name of my representative in the next several days.

"The Dodgers have been one of the most prestigious franchises in all of sports, and we owe it to their legion of loyal fans to ensure that this club is being operated properly now and will be guided appropriately in the future."
셀릭은 맥코티의 무능력을 이유로 다저스의 구단운영과 재정에 관해서 커미셔너의 권리로 대리인을 몇 일후에 파견할 것이라고 합니다.

Let's hope for more Rangers and less Expos in this MLB oversee.
일단 최선은 레인저스가 될테고, 최악은 몬트리올이 될겁니다.

당연한 얘기겠지만, 이제 앞으로 벌어진 그 어떤 트레이드나 계약에 관한 제정적인 절차는 사무국의 승인하에 놓이게 될겁니다. 최악의 경우(몬트리올)에는 캠프나 커쇼같은 빅리그의 코어들까지 팔아야할 상황도 배제할 수는 없을거 같습니다.

"As the 50% owner of the Los Angeles Dodgers, I welcome and support the Commissioner’s actions to provide the necessary transparency, guidance and direction for the franchise and for Dodgers fans everywhere."
일단 법적으로 다저스의 공동구단주인 제이미 맥코티는 사무국의 이런 조치를 환영한다고 성명을 발표했습니다.

그 사람입장에서는 이렇게 하는 것이 자신이 다저스의 권리를 유지하는데, 도움이 되기때문에 셀릭의 이런 조치에 환영의사를 나타내는 것은 어찌보면 당연할 겁니다.

일단 루머에 따르면 과거 애틀란타와 워싱턴을 운영했던 경험이 있는 Stan Kasten라는 분이 후보에 있다고 하는군요.

작년에 사무국이 텍사스의 대리청정 임명인으로 John McHale Jr.라는 사람을 파견했는데, 이 사람에 의하면 Corey Busch가 후보라고 하는군요. 코리 부쉬는 과거 SF의 부사장을 하기도 했고, 맥코티가 다저스를 매입하는데 큰 도움을 줬다고 하는군요.

그래서 맥코티가 SF인사들과 선수들을 많이 영입하는가 싶네요.
