밑에 마틴님이 알려주셨지만, 갈랜드(Jon Garland)의 부상장면입니다.

Garland said it was an oblique muscle on his left side and he felt it only on the last pitch. He said he has never had an oblique injury before but knew it when it happened. Oblique tears can take a month or longer to heal.
본인 말에 따르면 그 이전에는 옆구리부상을 당한적이 없지만, 마지막 피칭때 왼쪽 옆구리가 땡겼다고 합니다. 일단 09시즌에 구로다(Hiroki Kuroda)가 2달동안 빅리그에서 투구를 못했다는 점을 생각해볼때 암울한 소식이 아닐 수가 없습니다.

비슷한 시기에 카즈의 카펜터도 옆구리 부상을 당했지만, 5주만에 돌아왔었다고 하는군요. 일단 MRI촬영을 했는데, 결과는 내일 이후에나 나올 것이라고 합니다.

After going 14-12 for the Padres last year and being their Opening Day starter, Garland was signed by the Dodgers to a one-year, $5 million contract, plus an option, most notably for his durability, coming off his ninth consecutive season of at least 190 innings.

An $8 million option for 2012 vests if Garland throws at least 190 innings and is not on the disabled list during the month of September with an injury to his right arm. He also has bonuses for 2010 worth up to $3.525 million for innings pitched beginning at 150 and topping at 190.
다저스와 계약할 당시의 조항인데, 올해 5M과 150이닝이상 투구시에 추가적인 퍼포먼스 보너스인 3.5M가량을 받고, 올해 갈랜드가 190이닝을 넘기고 9월에 '팔꿈치부상'으로 DL에 있지않는다면 내년 베스팅옵션은 실행됩니다.

갈랜드와 계약직후 그의 팔꿈치에 대한 우려적인 리포트가 쏱아져나왔었는데, 의외로 다른 곳에 부상을 당해버리네요.

The fifth-starter slot was an even bigger problem. There was a Spring Training cattle call of rookies and veterans. Before acquiring Ted Lilly, the Dodgers used five starters other than Padilla, Clayton Kershaw, Chad Billingsley and Hiroki Kuroda. John Ely, Carlos Monasterios, Ramon Ortiz, James McDonald and Charlie Haeger went went a combined 6-21. Ortiz was released, McDonald traded and Haeger signed with Seattle as a Minor League free agent.
작년에 다저스가 확실한 5선발이 없어서 참으로 고생했는데, 위에 원문에서 알 수 있듯이 저런 선수로 돌려막기결과가 6승 21패라는 참담한 결과를 불러일으켰죠. 해서 올해는 확실한 5선발을 구축하고 스윙맨으로 파디야를 영입했음에도 불구하고 선발급 투수 2명이 부상으로 오프닝데이에 나오지 못할 가능성이 생겨버렸습니다.

For starting pitching depth, Ely has had a good start to spring, as has non-roster veteran Tim Redding. Ely is 2-0 with six scoreless innings pitched, seven strikeouts and no walks; Redding, who finished last season pitching in Korea, is 1-0 with eight scoreless innings pitched.
하지만, 예년과는 달리 오프시즌에 기존의 5선발급투수를 제외하고 5명의 선발투수를 영입했던 다저스이고, 스캠과정에서 일라이(John Ely)가 괜찮은 투구를 보여주고 있어서 그렇게 심각하게 받아들이고 싶지는 않습니다.

레딩(Tim Redding)에 관한 얘기도 언급되어있지만, 배제하는 편이 좋을거 같습니다. NBA처럼 '10일계약'이라는게 없는 MLB이기때문에 그를 올린다는 것은 결국 25인 & 40인 로스터에 영향을 끼칠만한 요소이기때문이고, 일라이가 있고, 잠재적으로 모나스테리오스(Carlos Monasterios)도 있기때문에 스캠용 투수 & 6월까지 엘버커키용 투수라고 생각하는 편이 좋겠죠.

"They've been throwing the ball good, both guys," said Mattingly. "We talked about not needing a fifth guy until the 10th or 11th of April with the off-days. We'll see. We'll get a timetable when the see if it's mild or more."
다만 다저스의 초반 스케줄이 문제라면 문제일겁니다. 즉, 첫 2달(3월에 1경기포함)동안 휴식일이 닷세에 불과한 다소 타이트한 상황이기때문에 결국 시즌초반부터 5선발체제를 갖춰야한다는게 아직은 꾸준함이 아쉬운 일라이가 쓰일 수밖에 없는 상황이 되겠지만, 메팅리의 생각은 다른가 봅니다.

Hong-Chih Kuo made his spring debut today, pitching one inning of work. The second batter he faced, Jack Wilson, jacked a home run to left, but Kuo retired the other three batters he faced, including one strikeout. I'm not sure what schedule he is on, but Kuo could possibly pitch again on Saturday, in the park.

Josh Lindblom, the reliever-turned-starter-turned-reliever, pitched in his first game of the spring, hoping for new beginnings in his old role as reliever, and struck out two in his one inning of work.
프런트 오피스의 우왕좌왕하는 모습으로 인해 작년에 망가졌던 린드블럼(Josh Lindblom)이 올시즌 첫 투구를 했습니다. 일단 린드블럼이 살아나준다면 브락스턴 이후의 다저스 불펜진에 추가적인 돈을 들일 필요가 없기때문에 그가 올해는 리바운딩해줘야 할 필요가 있어보입니다.

Rod Barajas went 2 for 2 with his second homer of the spring.
바라하스(Rod Barajas)의 성적이 심상치가 않네요. 오늘 2번째 스캠 홈런을 기록하면서 지금까지 15타수 6안타 12TB를 기록중입니다. 여전히 볼넷을 골라내고 있지는 않지만, 이런 상승세를 개막전이후에도 계속 보여줬으면 좋겠네요. 아니면 스캠 상승세는 여기서 그만두고 정규시즌때 상승세를 이어가는 것도....
