잭 리와 계약하지 못할 것이다

A day after being selected in the first round of the Major League Baseball First-Year Player Draft, LSU signee Zach Lee arrived on campus and enrolled in school for the summer session.
드레프트가 열린 하루 뒤 다저스의 1라운드로 지명된 잭 리(Zach Lee)는 LSU 캠퍼스에 도착해서 여름섹션에 등록했다고 합니다.

LSU head coach Les Miles said Lee is scheduled to attend class on Wednesday. Lee is slated to begin LSU's summer conditioning program on Wednesday as well.

"Zach wants to come to LSU, get a degree and play football and baseball for the Tigers," Miles said. "I met with Zach and his parents today and I think that they are looking at LSU as a great opportunity both academically and athletically.

"Zach is an outstanding student and he's excited about the college experience."
LSU 풋볼팀 감독인 레스 마일스(Les Miles)씨에 따르면 잭 리는 (대학) 졸업장을 취득하고 싶어하고 타이거즈(LSU의 팀명)에서 풋볼과 야구를 병행하고 싶어한다고 말했다고 한다. 그 자리에서 잭 리와 부모님을 만났고, LSU에 대해 굉장히 호의적이라는 것을 느꼈다고 합니다.

Lee, a quarterback, was selected with the 28th overall pick by the Dodgers on Monday night. Lee recently finished a high school baseball season that saw him win 11 games with a 2.15 ERA and 90 strikeouts.

As a senior on the football field, Lee passed for 2,565 yards and 31 touchdowns for McKinney High School. He also added nine rushing touchdowns in 2009.
일단은 잭 리와 계약할 수 있는 기간은 현지시간으로 (동부시간기준) 8월 16일 오후 11시 59분까지입니다.

How much $$ would it take to pry Zach Lee away from LSU? Would teams like Boston, Detroit or the Yankees draft him in the first 2 rounds on talent alone even with the signability concerns?

한편 드레프트가 열리기 전에 키스 로우(Keith Law)씨는 팬들과 채팅을 했는데, 잭 리의 예상금액은 6M정도라고 말한 적이 있다고 하네요.

참으로 오래간만에 들어봅니다. 몇 년전에도 이런 얘기를 접한거 같습니다. 제 기억으로 2008년 말에 이런 얘기가 있었습니다.
