스컬리옹, 병원신세

Vin Scully, the Dodgers' broadcasting legend and a member of the Baseball Hall of Fame, was hospitalized overnight Thursday after he got up from bed too quickly, fell and bumped his head.

Josh Rawitch, the Dodgers' vice president for communications, spoke with Scully late Thursday. Rawitch said in an e-mail to reporters that Scully told him he had simply gotten out of bed too quickly, resulting in his fall.

Scully, 82, was taken to West Hills Hospital and Medical Center as a precaution.

"I am spending the night and plan on doing the game Sunday," Scully said in a statement.

Sunday's Cactus League game is between the Dodgers and Cleveland Indians at the Dodgers' spring training facility in Glendale, Ariz.

Scully has been part of the Dodgers' broadcast team since 1950, when the team still played in Brooklyn. He is a 28-time California Sportscaster of the Year and was inducted into the broadcasting wing of the Baseball Hall of Fame in 1982.

Scully remains the Dodgers' lead television and radio broadcaster, but reduced his schedule several years ago, working all home games and only road games against National League West and American League West opponents.

단순 사고라고 하기에는 스컬리씨의 나이를 생각할때 가볍게 넘길일은 아니었던 모양입니다.

일단은 그리 큰 이상은 없다고 하네요. 내일 퇴원해서 다저스의 스프링 캠프가 열리는 곳에 가서 중계를 할 예정이라고 하네요.

아까 한 4시간전쯤에 이 뉴스를 접했었는데, 그때 이후에 추가 리포터가 나올줄 알았는데, 그게 끝이네요. 별 이상이 없다는 소리겠죠.

건강하게 시즌을 보내기 전의 액땜이라고 생각하고 싶네요.
