오늘 리드 존슨(Reed Johnson)의 계약얘기에서 조금 흘러나온 것인데, LAtimes의 Dylan Hernandez기자는 추가적인 코맨트를 달아놨더군요.

지난 번 벨리아드 & 어스무스 계약때 했던 발언(추가적인 선발투수 영입은 없다)과는 상반된 언행이지만, 시즌이 진행될수록 한치앞도 내다볼 수 없는 것이 (개인적으로는 위험천만한) 투수이기에 추가적인 투수영입을 할 것이라고 했습니다.

일단 내일 예정되었던 라우리(Noah Lowry)의 워크아웃이 취소되었고, 언제 다시 할지 미정인 상태라고 하더군요.
그런 가운데, 보스턴 글로브는 스캇 보라스는 위버(Jeff Weaver)의 계약을 위해 동분서주하고 있다고 합니다.
하지만, 현실적으로 그를 영입하기에는 아직 위버앞에 많은 투수들(스몰츠 or 워시번 or 루퍼)이 있기때문에 딱히 뽀족한 방법이 없습니다.

개인적으로는 위버와 비슷한 레벨이라고 생각되는 웰리마이어(Todd Wellemeyer)는 시애틀이 쫓고 있다는 루머가 있기때문에 시애틀로의 리턴도 사실상 불가능하지 않을까 싶네요.

일단 위에 언급한 왕첸밍, 위버, 라우리 외에 다저스가 관심가질 법한 투수가 있어 루머닷컴에서 따왔습니다.

The agent for Kris Benson said Friday that the right-hander is “100 percent” ready to pitch and should sign with a new team within the next few weeks.

Gregg Clifton said Benson has already thrown for two interested teams. According to Clifton, Benson’s fastball reached 92 and 93 miles per hour and averaged 91 during both of the 90-pitch sessions.

Benson has made only eight appearances in the majors since 2006. He pitched in the majors and minors for Texas last year, with minimal success. But Clifton is encouraged by the fact that he’s already throwing his fastball, curveball, slider and changeup.

Some of the teams that pursued Ben Sheets may now show interest in Benson — at a considerably lower price.

The Diamondbacks, Cubs, Reds, Mariners, Nationals and Dodgers may be in the market for rotation depth, but Clifton declined to say if any of them had made contact.
처음 이 기사를 접했을땐 '그저 그런가?' 싶었는데, 오늘 짤막한 기사를 읽고 다시 한 번 생각하게 되었습니다.

단순히 원문 하단에 다저스의 이름(윗 본문에는 없지만, MTR에는 있더군요)이 있어서가 아니라, 실제로 작년 이맘때 다저스의 로건 화이트(콜레티가 아니고)가 벤슨(Kirs Benson)에게 관심이 있다는 루머가 있었습니다. 그 연장선상에서 가능한 추리가 아닐까 싶고, 실제로 벤슨은 (라우리와는 달리) 이미 2팀 관계자들이 지켜보는 앞에서 워크아웃은 했었다고 합니다. 그리고 그 2팀중에 한 팀이 다저스일거라는 (밑도 끝도없는) 느낌이 드네요.
