헤거 다시 DL???

The Dodgers will not activate knuckleballer Charlie Haeger on Tuesday, as expected, because the pitcher is still hampered by a stubbed big toe on his right foot.

Rookie John Ely will instead start Tuesday and Carlos Monasterios will start Wednesday.

Manager Joe Torre evaluated the game film from Haeger's rehab start Saturday for Class A Inland Empire and noticed a limp. Pitching coach Rick Honeycutt then spoke to 66ers pitching coach Charlie Hough, who said Haeger could benefit from more time with Inland Empire.

어제 인랜드에서 선발투수로 나왔던 헤거는 3이닝동안 6피안타 3실점 2BB/4K를 기록했습니다.

처음에는 화요일 선발을 위해 (결과완 상관없이) 3이닝만 던지고 물러난지 알았는데, 부상이 재발했다는군요. 토레와 허니컷은 인랜드 경기 필름을 보고서 헤거가 다리를 끈다는 것(limp)을 알았고, 찰리 허프(Charlie Hough) 인랜드 투수코치에서 문의를 해서 확인했다고 하네요.

"We want to get him back here to give him every opportunity to put his best foot forward, no pun intended," said Torre. "We want to give him every shot."
일단 토레의 인터뷰를 보면 헤거의 부상만 완치된다면 간이라도 퍼줄것 같은 인터뷰를 하고 있는데, 일단 토레가 어떤 생각으로 그랬는지는 모르겠지만, 의도자체는 좋았던거 같습니다.

즉, 작년보다는 선발투수에 대한 보호를 하고 있는 말투가 있었는데, 결과적으로 실패했지만, 모나스테리오스는 적어도 한 번 더 선발 기회를 부여받게 되었습니다.

Injured Dodgers pitcher Vicente Padilla Sunday was willing to talk about his Saturday controversy because, as he put it, he didn't do anything wrong.

The Denver police agreed, declining to arrest or press charges against Padilla after a "friend" called police and accused the pitcher of domestic violence.

"Nothing happened," said Padilla. "If anything happened, I'd be arrested."

Instead, after being interviewed by authorities Saturday, Padilla threw a simulated game at Coors Field as part of his rehabilitation from an inflamed radial nerve in his right arm. Manager Joe Torre said Sunday morning it hasn't been decided if Padilla will throw another simulated game before beginning a Minor League rehabilitation assignment.

Padilla, describing the woman who made the accusation "a friend," said he didn't know why she called police and that he wasn't worried when it happened.

"I didn't do anything. Why would they arrest me if I didn't do anything?" he said.

해서 정상적으로 어제 케롤과 X-폴을 상대로 시뮬레이션 경기를 치뤘는데, 15개씩 3이닝을 던졌다고 하는군요.

허니컷은 커맨드와 싱커가 별로였지만, 브레이킹 볼과 스플리터를 던진 것에 의의를 두고 있다고 하는군요. 그리고 던진 후에도 통증이 없었다고 했기때문에 화요일부터 인랜드에서 리헵에 들어갈 것이라고 합니다. 리헵은 총 3번 등판할 것이라고 하네요.

또 다른 DL인 쉐릴(George Sherrill)도 같은 날 시뮬레이션 경기를 했는데, 12개씩 2이닝을 던졌습니다.

쉐릴의 경우 인랜드에서 2번, 엘버커키에서 2번 리헵을 가질 것이라고 합니다.


Through the miracle of modern technology from his hotel room early Saturday morning, Dodgers catcher A.J. Ellis was able to follow the birth of his son in Wisconsin, then start against the Rockies on Saturday night.

Ellis got the call after Friday night's game from wife Cindy that their second child was about to be born. She updated him from the hospital and around 3 a.m., Ellis turned on his laptop and, via webcam, was able to hear the birth of son Luke, then see that mother and child were happy and healthy.

"It was pretty amazing," said Ellis.

Cindy's family lives nearby and was with her at the hospital. Ellis' mother joined today. His father is in Denver to watch Ellis play. Ellis said the decision whether he would be with Cindy for the birth was made over the offseason.

"I left it up to my wife," he said. "Her plan was that if I was Triple-A, I'd be at the hospital, which I was for our first baby. If I'm in the Major Leagues, as a catcher it's tough to leave the team with one catcher. But I left it up to her and kept asking repeatedly. She was completely fine with it."

In other Dodgers family news, hitting coach Don Mattingly left the club to attend the high school graduation of his youngest son in Indiana and is expected to rejoin the club Sunday.
보통 가족사가 있으면 잠시 팀을 떠나는게 일반적인데, 포수는 로스터에 달랑 2명뿐이기때문에 그런게 어려웠던 모양입니다. 토요일 아침에 엘리스(A.J. Ellis)의 부인이 출산을 했는데, 위스콘신으로 가는 대신 컴퓨터를 통해 아들이 태어나는 모습을 봤다고 합니다.

이것에 관해서는 오프시즌에 아내와 얘기된 내용이라고 하네요. 즉, 자신이 마이너에 있으면 직접 오고, 빅리그에 있다면 못가는 걸로....

한편, 메팅리 타격코치는 막내아들의 졸업식 참석을 위해 토요일 경기는 빠졌다고 하네요.

The Dodgers plan to activate outfielder Andre Ethier on Monday, although they did not demote a position player after Sunday's game. They did flip pitchers, though, returning left-hander Scott Elbert to triple-A Albuquerque and recalling right-hander Travis Schlichting.

Elbert made one appearance, in which he faced six batters and gave up three walks and a hit. Schlichting, 25, who pitched in two games for the Dodgers last season, has a 2-0 record and 4.02 ERA in 16 games at Albuquerque.
한편, 헤거가 복귀를 못함에 따라 엘버트(Scott Elbert)를 내리고, 슐링팅(Travis Schlichting)을 콜업시켰습니다. 일단 재비어 폴(Xavier Paul)은 당장 강등은 아니지만, 곧 그렇게 될거 같네요.
