Less than two weeks ago, Chris Reed was throwing in the Los Angeles Dodgers bullpen in front of manager Don Mattingly. Tonight, he’ll make his professional debut for Class-A Rancho Cucamonga.

Reed, a left-handed pitcher who was the Dodgers' first-round draft pick in June, is scheduled to start against Bakersfield and work one or two innings. He agreed to a $1.589-million signing bonus after pitching for Stanford.

Reed, who is 6-feet-4 and 190 pounds, spent most of his childhood in Southern California and attended Cleveland High School in Reseda.

"You always want to sign with the hometown team," Reed said during a recent visit to Dodger Stadium. "It’s right down the street from my house,"

Although he pitched in relief for Stanford, the Dodgers plan to convert Reed into a starter. His size and repertoire of three pitches make his well-suited to starting, said Dodgers assistant general manager for scouting Logan White.

일단 처음 목표처럼 시즌 말미에는 5이닝을 던질 수 있는 상태까지 한 이후에 스텐포드로 가서 학위를 마져 마칠 것이라고 하는데, 쿠카몽가의 정규시즌 스케줄은 9월초까지여서 그때까지 5이닝을 마칠 수 있을지는 의문이네요.

물론 쿠카몽가가 전반기 지구우승을 차지해서 플옵에서 던질 수 있습니다. 일단 쿠카몽가의 스케줄에 플옵 1라운드까지 표기되어있는데, 잠재적인 스케줄을 합쳐서 14일입니다.

일단 오늘은 1~2이닝을 투구할 것이라고 하네요. 등번호는 35번입니다.

오늘 강등되면서 9월 4일날 재 콜업이 가능하게 되었는데, 일단 팬들 사이에는 여전히 린드블럼의 허접한 K%비율을 구실삼아 롱런하지 못할 것이라고 하네요. 하지만, 지난 번 콜업보다는 확실히 좋은 모습을 보여줬습니다.

린드블럼이 처음 빅리그로 콜업되었던 6월 1일부터 17일까지는 10.2이닝 8피안타 2실점 3BB/5K를 보여줬고, 이후 7월 30일 재콜업되어서는 9이닝 5피안타 3실점 3BB/8K를 보여줬습니다.

벨레즈가 오늘 대타로 안타를 기록하지 못하면서 27타수 무안타를 기록하게 되었습니다. 확장로스터까지 앞으로 일주일이 남았는데다가 특별한 무브가 없는한 그가 다저스에서 올해까지 계속해서 남아있으리라는 생각이 드네요. 아마 기록도 더 이어갈 것으로 생각됩니다.


엘리스(A.J. Ellis)가 빅리그 첫 홈런을 기록했습니다. 427피트짜리 홈런이라고 하는데, 일단 이 홈런으로 좀 재미있는 세러모니가 연출되었습니다.

마수걸이 홈런을 기록한 선수를 위한 서프라이즈가 있었는데, 엘리스가 더 유니크하게 행동해버리네요. 덕아웃으로 들어가서 선수들을 약올리네요.

In his last three starts, Kuroda has an ERA of 2.25 and has received 24 runs of support. As you might imagine, Kuroda is 3-0 in those three starts. He allowed three runs in seven innings today, picking up his 10th win of the season.

릴리(Ted Lilly)는 목상태가 좋지 않았는데, 다저스의 트레이너인 이치로 타니(Ichiro Tani)의 침술을 맞았다고 하네요. 상태가 좀 나아졌다고 합니다. 처음에는 침술에 거부반응을 보여 이해할 수가 없었다고 하네요.

기사에 보면 릴리의 와이프는 수의사(veterinarian)말이 있는데, 팬들 사이에서 교사라는 얘기까지 나왔는데, 거닉이 말하고 기사화한걸 보면 수의사가 맞는 모양입니다.
