야구와 풋볼에 재능을 보여주었던 버바 톰슨에게 다저스가 관심을 갖고 있다는 것은 잘 알려진 루머이다. 버바 톰슴만큼의 운동능력과 실링을 갖고 있는 선수는 이번 드래프트에 거의 없다. 인상적인 스피드를 갖고 있기 때문에 장기적으로 중견수 자리를 지킬 수 있을 것으로 보이며 야구 경험이 많지 않은 선수임에도 불구하고 세련된 타격툴을 갖고 있다.
